● Structural design: Although the addition of polypropylene fiber can really improve the performance of concrete, polypropylene fiber is still used as a “secondary reinforcing rib” for concrete to prevent shrinkage and cracking of concrete and extend the service life of concrete. Instead of the "main reinforcement", the main load of the structure is assumed. A large number of tests also confirmed that although the number of fiber monofilaments obtained after the dispersion of polypropylene reticular fibers is large, the volume ratio of 0.9 kg to 1.8 kg of polypropylene mesh fiber per cubic meter of concrete is only 0.1% to 0.2%. %, so there is no obvious effect on the parameters such as the compressive strength and elastic modulus of the concrete. It is suggested that the reinforcement ratio of the main stressed tendons in the original design does not change after the polypropylene reticular fiber is incorporated.
● Length selection: The length of polypropylene fiber in general engineering is 20mm.
● Proportioning design: Under normal conditions, the amount of polypropylene mesh fiber is 0.9kg for single concrete, and 1.8kg for waterproof layer of bridge deck, and it is not necessary to change the amount of other materials. When there are special applications, the polypropylene mesh fiber content and the concrete ratio can be determined through experiments. For the concrete mixed with silica fume, fly ash, ground slag, zeolite powder and other active mixed materials, the effect of the reticular fiber is better.
● Mixer selection: forced mixer must be used.
● Feeding process: put in the gravel first, then put the fiber, and then put in the sand and stir for two minutes to fully open the fiber, and then put in the cement and water and stir it evenly. It is also possible to carry out the construction in the order of conventional process inputs, but the mixing time should be appropriately extended to allow the fibers to disperse evenly.
● Stirring time: The goal of stirring is that the fiber network can be sufficiently dispersed as a monofilament or mesh structure is opened. Under normal circumstances, put into the polypropylene mesh fiber, forced stirring 2 - 3 minutes.
● Molding process: no special requirements, but it should ensure that the concrete is fully tampered.
● Maintenance process: no special requirements can be made according to the normal concrete curing process. The early curing of concrete cannot be relaxed due to the incorporation of reticular fibers.
● Durability of Polypropylene Mesh Fiber: Any organic material will gradually age under the combined effects of heat, light, oxygen and other factors, losing excellent performance, but the use of mesh fibers does not present such problems because of the fiber placement. It is completely protected in concrete.
